At Security America Mortgage, our commitment to veterans and military families is not just a business model — it is a generational calling.
Founded in 2005 by Garrett Pat Puckett — a 5th-generation Texan, patriot, and industry veteran with over two decades of experience — our company carries forward an enduring legacy of service, honor, and responsibility.
Garrett Puckett's roots are deeply woven into the fabric of American history. His family's lineage includes ancestors who fought on the front lines for the nation's freedom, stretching from the Revolutionary War to the historic, hard-fought beaches of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge during World War II.
Among them, family members endured the raw, punishing intensities of front-line combat — surviving heavy artillery, mortar fire, and the harrowing realities of war. Upon returning home, that same resilience and dedication translated into foundational contributions to civilian life. In the 1940s, members of Garrett's family helped co-found the Houston Postal Credit Union, establishing a lasting financial legacy built on trust, community care, and unyielding integrity.
Injected with an early appreciation for real estate and financial stewardship — purchasing his first home at just 22 years old — Garrett built hands-on expertise across the mortgage, real estate, and financial sectors.
Having lived through and successfully navigated multiple economic shifts and financial crises, Garrett recognized a critical gap in the lending marketplace: military veterans and their families were often underserved, confused by, or unaware of the true power of their hard-earned home loan benefits.
In 2005, Garrett channeled his family's generational values into founding Security America Mortgage. His goal was straightforward yet revolutionary: create a specialized mortgage platform centered on integrity, transparency, and a profound respect for those who wear the uniform.
Today, Security America Mortgage stands as a proud, Texas-headquartered private lender specializing in helping veterans navigate the complexities of home financing.
